It is with a sense of pride, joy and humility that I report on the affairs of this organisation.

In line with our empowerment programme we have so much to be proud of. The progress of people who have been placed in training has been astounding, to say the least, not to mention the amazing work that was accomplished by our Social Work and the APD Day Care Centre Teams.

The principle of training and promoting from within has resulted in the appointment of people with disabilities into key positions.

Our ongoing Driver Training Programme has resulted in 7 of our people obtaining their Drivers Licences and 15 who are in waiting having passed their Learners Test.

The volatile political and economical climate in our country has not made life any easier and therefore, as has been the case for many years, we like so many NGO’s, continue to operate in survival mode. Our sincere thanks go out to our many funders who contribute in assisting to ensure that this unique facility stays alive.

The highlight of the past year was APDNMB receiving the Service Excellence Award from the MEC for Social Development for the Best Performing Disability Sector NGO in the Eastern Cape. This certainly gave recognition to the effectiveness of the wide range of activities that we involve ourselves with.

So, to our trusty Executive Committee who ensure that we have “a shoulder to cry on”, our loyal
funders and clients and the amazing ABILITY TEAM, we thank you for your unwavering support and belief.

We go into the future with confidence, knowing: I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me. – Phillipians 4:13
