Wheelchair Wednesday 2018 – Week 4 (The Stadium SPAR)

We had a great time at SPAR The Stadium hosting our Week 4 participants along with Collegiate School and Kingfisher FM who joined us for their 4 hours in a wheelchair!

Participant Sashika Naidoo and her assistant for the day had the following to say about their Wheelchair Wednesday experience, “We’d like to take the opportunity to say thank you as this is one experience that we would never forget. Being dependent on another person is not an easy thing and losing mobility forces you to rely on other people and this takes a lot of courage.

At the end of the day, the 4 hours spent performing the tasks were difficult. We commend and are inspired by those individuals who get by without conventional mobility and this experience has made a huge impact on the way that we see wheelchair users.

We thank you once more for giving us the opportunity to feel what it’s like to be in their shoes.”
